Teaching and Lessons
Each week has a theme for the lessons, the Discover London visits, and the activities. For example, London Calling - a geography-based week has visits to the London Eye and the National Portrait Gallery. Lessons build language around the theme including grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, and speaking. Our 10-12 year olds follow our London Explorers course which includes two hours per week to develop their exploring skills. Our 13 -17-year-olds follow our London Leaders course for two hours per week to develop their leadership skills. Students develop work related to all the learning and the visits, such as a poster, a talk, a play, or even a video. They present their work to the school on Friday afternoons before the party.
