Xplore / Camp Pangbourne

Reading-based camp is ideal for ages 12 to 16, located in pure English countryside which has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With 230 acres of land, there is plenty of space for getting outside, whether that is for some of our fantastic activities or one of our specialist sporting camps. At Camp Pangbourne teenagers can enjoy all of multi-activity sessions whilst being outside. Relax on the lawns, or take a dip in the outdoor pool with new friends and in the evenings, camp has a selection of entertainment planned, from campfires to discos, talent shows and fair nights.

Courses

English

- Levels: A2 – B2 on CEFR Pathway Table - Following an initial placement test, our English teachers will place all learners into classes dependent on their test results, this camp offers Elementary (A2), Intermediate (B1) and Advanced (B2) courses in English

English Plus + Rugby

- this course is perfect for boys and girls aged 12 to 16 who want to try rugby, improve their skills and develop English language skills alongside other like-minded rugby fans - by the end of the week will be for players to have a better understanding of the game and learning of what it takes to be a rugby player

English Plus + Football

- this course is perfect for students who want to play football, improve their skills and develop English language skills - this 2-week camp will consist of 1-2 football training sessions per day (except excursion days) delivered in English supported by English language lessons and cultural excursions

Accommodation

Accommodation at Pangbourne varies from single bedded rooms to small dorm rooms. The camp has separate quarters for boys and girls and where possible place campers of a similar age in a room together.

Teaching and Lessons

- Xplore English language courses are accredited by ABLS and taught using Anglia Examinations - Teachers focus on improving language skills through cultural integration & promoting global independence and to maximise students’ English language skills by encouraging communication in a social and fun environment as well as through engaging ESL lessons. - Xplore language camps give students the independence to explore a new country and make memories with new friends by themselves, whilst being in a safe and secure environment. - Meeting other nationalities can help students to develop respect, understanding and appreciation for different cultures, the programmes encourage interaction between different nationalities and cultures on campus or in the family home.
