LSC - Language Study Centres / Oxford

World-renowned for its academic history, Oxford is a unique city offering everything from hushed college quads, stunning buildings, grand libraries and great shopping. As you stroll through the city, the weight of centuries of academic achievement and the universities world class reputation are all too obvious. Placed on the River Cherwell and River Thames, the University buildings are scattered throughout the city, placed between fantastic high street shops, small boutiques and unique attractions. Situated through 4 campuses, students will be located on the Headington campus, 1 miles outside of the city centre. Students will be based at Clive Booth Halls on Headington Hill. The campus contains a large refectory, a sports centre containing a modern gym and dance studios, as well as copious amounts of outdoor space for students to enjoy LSC’s fantastic social activities programme.

15 hours of English lessons per week

Accommodation

Residential The campus offers residential accommodation with single en-suite rooms. Amongst its indoor and outdoor facilities, there are playing fields, a swimming pool, creative spaces and a fanciful courtyard. Homestay Students are placed in homestay accommodation that is shared with a host family. Members of the family make students welcome and their safety is always considered with the utmost importance. Our families speak English and encourage students to use it as much as possible in their homes. Students are treated as full members of the household, eating together and sharing all the communal areas in the house such as living room, kitchen and dining area.

Teaching and Lessons

Our philosophy is to educate, encourage and help our students enjoy our course towns. It is often a case of helping students to ‘come out of their shell’, increasing their con dence in using english and providing an opportunity to use it in meaningful situations, both in the classroom and outside while socialising with students from many different countries.
